Ah, this is better - Spongebob Fullpants

Here's a funny thing.

A man who planned to walk from Bristol to India without any money has quit, after getting as far as Calais, France.

Mark Boyle, 28, who set out four weeks ago with only T-shirts, a bandage and sandals, hoped to rely on the kindness of strangers for food and lodging.

How sweet.

Apparently Mark was very disappointed that people failed to really 'get' the project.

"...not only did no one not speak the language, they had also seen us as just a bunch of freeloading backpackers, which is the complete opposite of what the pilgrimage is really about.

Damn. Those lazy French just didn't speak his language. And they wouldn't feed, clothe and help him travel for free.

Selfish bastards.

But good news everyone. Mark is undaunted.

But he added: "Whilst walking in the UK, I intend to learn French and to hit the continent again as soon as we feel we are ready."

So that's the French leg sorted then. And, um, how does he propose to communicate once he's passed through France exactly?

Ah well, that's a problem for another day.

Meanwhile, onward!

Note that he comes from Bristol i.e. he's a well meaning, beansprout eating yokel and/or trustafarian.
