Commited
Remember my great online dating experiment of a couple of years ago? (clue: the rich obnoxious guy won).Well it seems some chap has decided to take the very serious world of human sexuality research into the real world.
He is putting to the test the theory that if you ask 50 random women their name, you have a good chance (1 in 25 they say) of getting a 'yes'.
Hmm. I've always been a believer in the numbers game, but then so is the national lottery and I've not met a lottery millionaire yet.
Credit to the dude though. He tries the first 25 'how about a fuck's in the cold light of day on his university campus.
Result, a few slaps, lots of 'fuck offs' (which, arguably, is technically a success if you take things literally) and, surprise, no shag.
Undeterred, he decides that drunken women are more likely to go for it, so attempts a second 25 at a bar after midnight.
At this point, he decides not to make a note of the responses.
I didn’t want to look like a pervert writing a bunch of shit down after getting yelled at...
Quite right. Because asking a woman right out 'do you want a fuck' doesn't make you look like a pervert at all right?
Mind you, this time he manages to get 3, count them, 3 'yes's.
Crikey.
But here's the catch. The chap's a virgin and he decides that maybe, just maybe, a woman on whom this approach works may not be the perfect start to his sexual life, so he doesn't take them up on it, simply noting down his results.
What? That doesn't teach us anything? Now all we know is that 3 women said yes, but not whether they were serious. They might have been kidding. Or so drunk they thought he said 'Do you want a drink'. Hell, for all I know, a Fuck might be a cocktail they serve at the bar.
Come to think of it, he's not clear on whether he's been drinking himself either. After all, I think we've all had a night of drinking and then misheard 'leave me alone before I call the police' for 'please talk to me more for you are handsome and fascinating'.
It's easily done.
So, overall, bad job virgin scientist. Shame on you and your shabby research.
In fact, the only thing I did learn from reading this link is that there is apparently a 'pick up artist community'.
That makes me sad.

Also, no photo of 'Mr Scientist'. We need to know if he was a looker or not. This must be a fairly significant factor in the experiment.
Yes a photo would be good. But odds are for a guy who's a scientist and a virgin... probably not so lucky in the looks department.
