Bjorn Free
Friday evening we had arranged to meet a friend of a friend of Adam's for dinner. She was an Irish lass who had recently moved to Stockholm to be with her boyfriend.
So, being in Stockholm we started out in a Polish restaurant, which was suspiciously remeniscent of Major Tom (Polish friend)'s basement, complete with crazy old polish lady.
Then we went off for burgers and slipped into an Irish bar.
All very authenic so far.
Then we decided that it was time for a dance. We headed for a club. Fortunately, we'd scanned Time Out Swedestyle for an Indie club.
We arrived. It looked good. Lots of girls.
Come to think of it, pretty much only girls. In lumberjack shirts.
Suspicions were aroused.
They were also aroused by the 5 feet high letters HOMO SEX projected onto the wall.
We began to entertain the possibility that this was a gay club.
So we left and headed to another bar in the Sodermalm district (remember that - the 'bohemian' area).
This bar was far more like it, despite the long queue. We drank some more and thought about talking to women.
Fortunately that proved unecessary. One woman, in particular, made her interest very clear, with the subtle and elegant approach...
"You look quite fuckable. We're going to lab bar next, are you coming?"
Blimey.
Sadly, we weren't going, because we had a date with destiny - the triumphant return to Spy Bar.
They didn't let us in. Again.
