Game on
Well, at first glance it seems the publishing world has proved to be one step in front of me in the battle of the sexes. They have now released this book about how to pick up chicks and, presumably, have sex with them. Now the weak minded among you (i.e. all of you, if you’re still reading this rubbish) will think that this is in some way a replacement for the rigorous scientific study that is going on in this blog.
To you I say ‘no’. But also ‘yes’. And ‘maybe’. I also say to you ‘I’ve been drinking since lunchtime.’ And ‘what are you doing in my house?’. So this might be a good time to stop reading.
None of which is really relevant here. What matters is that someone has gone to the effort of writing down a bunch of rules about how to get women to go home with you and allow you to put bits of your body into bits of theirs (sounds a bit unpleasant when put like that doesn’t it?).
So, what we’ve learned is… "you have to apply all the principles of the Game to get a woman home with you every time." And what does this mean? A cursory websurf reveals that a) you have to adopt an absurd sub-gangsta nickname (examples Style, Mystery and Herpes [I may have made one of those up]) and b) you have to act in a certain way. It turns out that the ‘certain way’ is basically ‘like a prick’.
So women like men who are pricks. No, that’s not fair. Women like men who are nice, exciting, interesting and funny. It just turns out that if they’re interesting and funny and exciting, they were almost certainly lying about being nice, so you end up with a prick. Again.
It doesn’t look good for the women out there does it. Or the nice men for that matter. But then again, this is only true if you believe women go for a man who calls himself Style, instead of something sensible like Alan. And that can’t be true. Can it?
More on The Game, when I’ve got round to reading it. Otherwise, apologies for the transparent misogyny and self-pity. It’s been a hard week.

Hmm ... could explain a certain someone's account at the Hotel Manners. He's got this down to a tee, right down to the name. ("He's come as a right bleedin' ponce - and he even does the voice 'n' all. Blinding. Blinding!")
Do you think the name "Dump" would work?
Hmmm... anything wrong with the time honoured methods of waving your wad and proclaiming that you are hung like a donkey?
